Tips for Eating Healthy on a Budget

photo-1518183214770-9cffbec72538Most people believe that adopting and living a healthy lifestyle has to be expensive. The idea that you save more eating junk and regular food  is just not true. Organic foods (less processed foods) are more expensive in the short run, but ultimately can save on medical bills. But how do you keep your healthy living lifestyle at low level? Let’s look at three crucial tips:

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. How else would you know what healthy foods you will be eating for the next two weeks? What kinds of exercises are you going to be taking on? What kinds of weights do you need to buy? If you have not planned this out before you actually begin, your bank account will suffer the consequences of you not planning ahead.

The keto diet looks like a very expensive diet at first glance. But it does not have to be as expensive as it seems. Just as a running coach would be in a better position to tell you what the best running shoes are for you, a coach who specializes in keto dieting is more likely to know where to find great money saving deals on keto products than you. A nutritionist or dietician is in the best person to help you with your nutrition assessment and draw out the best money saving meal plans for you that are in line with your goals. It may seem as though hiring a professional is more expensive; however, in my opinion, I would say it is cheaper in the long run because they do this everyday and are more likely to direct you toward cheaper products/services.

This point seems very obvious, but it is not so easy. When I started getting really serious with my healthy living lifestyle, I bought everything I thought or heard was good. If I read somewhere that magnesium was good for me, I would buy a bottle the next day. If any expert said ten pounds weights were better to use for developing arm muscles than five pounds, the next day I would be in the store looking for ten pound weights. But if I had a budget from the get go, I would have saved a whole lot of money. Regardless of how long you have been on this path, get serious with setting a budget. It pays!

These are just a few tips that have helped me and some of my clients save money. This journey for some of us is a lifetime commitment to ourselves to live a better quality life. It is important to pay attention to what this lifestyle is doing to our bank accounts. If it doesn’t help save you money, why do it?
